Ingredient detail
Ingredient context
This is, without question, the single best-evidenced ingredient in the Bump to Blossom range for its intended purpose. A 2025 randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial gave postpartum women either 300mg of Shatavari root extract or a placebo twice daily for 72 hours after delivery, and measured both time to evident breast fullness and total milk volume expressed. The Shatavari group showed significantly faster and greater milk production, corroborating an earlier double-blind, randomised trial using a Shatavari-and-oats bar formulation, which also found improved breast milk output over placebo.
Evidence context
This is not a case of traditional use dressed up as science. It is a herb with genuine, modern, placebo-controlled human-trial data behind its centuries-old Ayurvedic reputation as a galactagogue, and it is the primary reason Shatavari sits at the top of RESTORE's ingredient list by dose.
