Ingredient detail
Ingredient context
Pumpkin Seed Oil is one of the better-studied naturals in the range. A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine gave 76 men with androgenetic alopecia either 400mg of Pumpkin Seed Oil daily or a placebo for 24 weeks. The treatment group saw roughly a 40% increase in hair count against a 10% increase in the placebo arm. A separate randomised trial in women with female-pattern hair loss compared Pumpkin Seed Oil directly against 5% topical minoxidil over three months and found comparable improvements in hair shaft diversity and vellus hair counts across both arms.
Evidence context
Beyond its antiandrogenic action, Pumpkin Seed Oil's linoleic acid content appears to reduce follicular inflammation, in part through lower IL-6 activity, which independently supports a longer active growth phase for the hair follicle. These studies provide ingredient context and should not be read as a guarantee of an individual outcome from a finished product.
